What Causes Pain In Area Between The Hip And Rib Cage At Night?

Question: I am a 63 year old male with a dull pain on my left side between my hip and rib cage it is worse in the middle of the night while sleeping the pain will wake me up. The pain will subside during the day. This has been going on for 2 weeks.
