Brief Answer:
Achilles tendonitis likely , need work up and management

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for asking

I read your question and i understand your concern. pain in achilles tendon radiating to ankle with slight swelling needs a little evaluation and work up to rule out any tendon rupture or trauma. It likely appears to be tendonitis ( inflammation of achilles tendon) and is usually treated conservatively with home remedies.

You have been doing good by icing it, using ibuprofen and stretching your calf muscles. You may also try special type of strengthening called "eccentric" strengthening, involving a slow let down of a weight after raising it, has been found to be especially helpful for persistent Achilles problems.

Wear an orthotic device like shoe insert or wedge that slightly elevates your heel can relieve strain on the tendon and provide a cushion that lessens the amount of force exerted on your Achilles tendon.

Wraps and compressive elastic bands will help and keeping the limb elevated will make the recovery faster. Talk to your doctor for further management.

I hope it helps. take good care of yourself and dont forget to close the discussion please.
