Brief Answer:
Consult Obstetrician for examination and investigations.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome to healthcare magic. I am Dr Ramadevi Wani. I will be answering your concerns today.

Is this the first time that you have this prolonged bleeding?
There are several reasons for this prolonged bleeding during periods:
1. Thyroid hormone disturbance
2.Ovarian cyst
3.Hormonal disturbance due to stress or sudden change in weight
4. Uterine or cervical polyp
5. Cervical erosion - This can cause mild bleeding which mimics prolonged periods.
Therefore you need to consult obstetrician for examination and investigations. Do get Pap smear done if it is due.

The occasional pain during intercourse could be due to lack of lubrication. You need to spend more time in foreplay. It is also good to use KY jel for lubrication.
I hope this is helpful.
If you have further concerns, I will be happy to answer.
Best wishes,
Dr Rama
