Question: My left hand starts to go numb and tingles like a novacain shot and works up my arm to my shoulder and goes to my face and down the left side of my body and left leg, this lasts for 5 to 10 minutes and goes away. It has happened 4 times in the last 3 hours. I have no pain any where.

Brief Answer:
Can be a nerve related cause.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
Numbness and tingling are abnormal sensations that can occur anywhere in your body, but are often felt in your hands, feet, arms, or legs.

Many causes of such sensations are there. These include injury to the back or spinal cord, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause such sensations.

Firstly, I’ll request you to get your blood sugar/HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) tested to rule out Diabetes mellitus. Also get your thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the symptoms improve.

I hope this answers your query.
