Brief Answer:
Please get at least serum electrolytes

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for using health care magic.

I read your query and understand your concerns.

His decision to not visiting doctor can have disastrous consequences as it seems to me that he needs intensive care.

Since he is not visiting hospital, if feasible please call a person from nearby laboratory to collect blood sample for serum electrolytes as there are symptoms suggestive of electrolyte disturbance.

I hope serum electrolyte report can shed some light on underlying pathology.
Thanks and regards.

you think it is serious and he needs to be hospitalized. is that my understanding to your answer? will going to primary care physician be right thing or should we take him to the minor emergency er?

he thinks he is getting better but I believe it is getting worse even if it is just my imagination, it should not be lingering this long.

Brief Answer:
Visiting PCP could be a alternative but better to hospitalize

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for reverting back to me.

Although your understanding to my answer is correct but I feel if he visits even a PCP and follows his instructions that could suffice. I must acknowledge that visiting emergency is better option but I doubt whether he will follow instructions of emergency physician while chances for following PCP's advice is high.

I do not think there is required improvement as two weeks is enough time to recover but still he is facing neurological symptoms in form of slurred speech, poor judgement is indicative of ongoing damage/permanent damage.

I hope this assists you further.
Thanks and regards.
