Brief Answer:
Symptoms appear stress induced, consult your doctor

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query on HealthcareMagic.
A history of stress event in recent past (cancer diagnosed in mother recently) can lead to various somatic symptoms.
Somatic symptoms refer to appearance of symptoms of pain, systemic symptom of pain, change in bowel habit, change in appetite etc.
However, before labelling the symptoms to be due to stress induced, other causes have to be ruled out.
So, I suggest you to consult your primary health provider for clinical examination and relevant investigations if required.
If no cause is found and if the symptoms are stress induced, I would suggest you to start the treatment of your mother.
Large number of cancers are treatable by combination of different modalities like chemotherapy, radiotherapy and surgery depending on the site, type and stage of cancer.

If you have more queries, I will be glad to answer.

Brief Answer:
No harm in waiting for couple of days.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,
An early visit will help you better.
However, if the appointment cannot be re-scheduled, you can safely wait for two weeks.
The problem is not very severe, but you need to manage your stress by activities like exercising, engaging yourself in small chores and practicing positive thinking.

Thanks and take care

Had follow up with doctor she thinks stomach issues are irritable bowel syndrome and to keep a food journal while researching ibs I ce across numerous articles regarding ovarian cancer and how it mimicked ibs of course because of my anxiety issues I've scared myself and do not have an appointment with gyno until September do you think it safe to keep a food diary and watch my diet and wait until sept appointment my go feels it's ok and believes its ibs

Brief Answer:
IBS can be a possibility in face of anxiety.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and welcome again,

It is a very good idea to maintain a food diary to register the type of food that you are taking and to register any side effect that develops to a specific type of food.
An ovarian tumor can mimic irritable bowel disease however, a clinical examination is required to diagnose any condition.
Irritable bowel diseases can be precipitated by anxiety and thus there is a strong possibility of irritable bowel disease.
You can wait till September, get a good clinical record of symptoms and then consult your doctor.

Thanks and take care.
