Question: my 6 year old has currently be diagnosed as having asthma, chronic bronchitis, adhd, and bi-polar, pre diabetes and she I think as they put it has an elevated thyroid function she is also in speach therapy and counseling. Now she has been complaining of chronic pain all over her body mostly in her neck it hurts to touch or move, hip pains where she cries out the pain can be so bad and her back hurts some days she can hardly move she bounces between not sleeping for a week then she crashes for about a week. this has severely affected her day to day life she also deals with chronic constipation. I have had her checked for arthritis negative and they prescribed miralax for the constipation they tell me to give her Benadryl for her to sleep but it is getting out of hand and I don't know what to do is this all related

Brief Answer:
The problems seem related and require proper medical attention.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

There seems to be a direct correlation between the problems that you mentioned. The impaired thyroid function is likely to be the direct cause of the muscle weakness and muscle fatigue. The mood disorders also have a role to play. There seems to be a problem with the bowel movements and thereby the constipation. You need to put the child through controlled and guided regular exercise. Give her a high fibre diet including plenty of green leafy vegetables. Benadryl will not make her sleep. Rather, the mood disorders need to be brought under control in order to enable her sleep properly. Psychiatric referral is needed for the same.
