What Causes Muscle Pain In Ankles Post Withdrawal From An Antidepressant?
Question: I was on antidepressants for a few years and I am now off of them. Although I feel great, I am now experiencing muscle pain, like in my ankles and such. Is this a withdrawal from the meds? I have been off of the anti-depressants for about 4 weeks.

rapidly stopping antidepressant treatment may cause recurrence of the initial symptoms and sometimes the symptoms may be even worse. 4 weeks after stopping the medication, you're feeling great (as you've said), so there are no real symptoms related to depression. Ankle pain is not a sign of depression, although psychosomatic symptoms may mimic any disease. I believe that you should visit your doctor for clinical examination and appropriate testing in order to exclude other causes first before attributing it to a recurrence.

I stop the meds cold turkey,.just wondered if it could be a withdrawal

If left untreated the symptoms may get better by themselves (without treatment) within then next 2-3 weeks. 4 weeks later (as in your case) the symptoms are supposed to be gone! Besides that the symptom, you've mentioned is not one of the common symptoms of antidepressant withdrawal.
So the answer is no... it's not withdrawal. You should have it checked by your doctor.
