Question: for about a year now when I relax ( sitting down to watch tv)I get a a one time muscle contraction in the upper abdomen, and always like 90 percent of the time upon falling a sleep, only twice a few months back did I get a very strong jerking of the head upon falling a sleep, during the day I sometimes have a quick very small jerking to one side of the head, not noticeable to others, now this past week the contractions if that's what it is has started in the lower abdomen. I am 59 and have been taking Inderal for 9 years for familiar tremors. I also have carpal tunnel in both hands, past history 1992 2 herniated disc in neck, got well after chiropractor care, osteoarthritis in the lower spine, I am pretty active during the day, gardening etc. I also have twitching in the face and legs off and on, but again not that noticeable to others

Brief Answer:
I will advise you to do MRI spine

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I have studied your case.
There is possibility of nerve root irritation leading to muscle twitching in particular position.
I will advise you to do MRI spine
For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic [pregabalin] medication can be started.
Till time, sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help.
I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Another possibility of electrolyte disturbance leading to muscle twitch, I will advise to do detail blood investigation consulting your doctor.

Till time you can continue your medication.
Many of my patients get relief with yoga, pranayama and XXXXXXX XXXXXXX so you can also start that.

Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.

I do have vitamin D3 issues, runs between 8 and 18 even with vitamin d3 capsules from the Dr. I just read that when your bodies ph is off you have a hard time absorbing nutrients, that can lead to osteoarthritis and b12 and d3 not getting absorb, interesting, thank you.
