default
Posted on Mon, 19 Jan 2015
Question: Ive been having muccous discharged and attached to stool after having anal sex. We used a condom and slight lubrication. I do have a history of hemrhoids and slight constipation. Im not sure if its an std or just a response from inflammation. Should i get tested even though protection was used? This was also the first time i had anal intercourse. And i do feel slight inflammation. Around the rectal sphlincter and blood when i whipe occasionaly.

Brief Answer:
Likely to be due to friction or irritation or abrasions.

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thank you for query. I am Dr Bharatesh D Basti answering your query.
I have gone through the description.

As you already have hemorrhoids and constipation, it may be friction or irritation or abrasions due to the act causing these symptoms.

STDs are unlikely as you had protected intercourse. I do not think there is a need to get tested now.

You can take stool softeners like liquid paraffin and topical gels like Lidocaine jelly advised for constipation.

It should be gone in a few days to a week.

You can get back for any clarification.

Thank you

I have a hydrocortisone topical for rectal use. However since i do see blood occasionaly in fearful to apply it. Should i still use the hydrocortisone even though i have scant bleeding to the area...in order to decrease the inflammaton and aid in healing?
