What Causes Lower Right Abdominal Pain During Ovulation?

default
Posted on Thu, 27 Jul 2017
Question: I have been experiencing pelvic pain (on the lower right side) for about a week, it comes and goes and feels like a dull ache. Earlier today the pain got worse, like a cramping feeling and then stopped. The pain was also felt in my lower back on the same side. Now the pain is much less, almost gone. I am in the middle of my menstrual cycle, so its not period cramps (my menstrual cramps are far more painful than this pain is/was). No spotting was experienced, but I did have some spotting in between periods last month. Could this be an ovarian cyst or endometriosis? I had a similar experience to this about 6 or 7 months ago as well.

Brief Answer:
Ovulatory pain and bleeding

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.
Mid cycle pain in several cycles is suggestive of pain due to ovulation.
It is a common phenomenon in many females, and is due to ovulation.
It can be associated with midcycle spotting and slight bleeding.
It is known as Mittelsmersz bleeding.
There is nothing to worry about it.
You can get an ultrasound to rule out any cyst or any other pathology.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
