What Causes Lower Back Pain, Dull Pain In Penis And Testicles?

default
Posted on Thu, 30 Jul 2015
Question: Hello. A couple of months ago I developed dull pain in penis and testicles and low back pain. No discharge or burning while urinating. Went to a urologist. Was told it was probably prostatitis. The doctor then ran a scope through my penis and looked all around. He said I also had a problem with urine back up. Prescribed Ciprofloxin. I've been taking it for several weeks and still have some pain. I'm worried this might be something like an std. Can that thought be ruled out by the fact that he looked through my penis and could have seen if it was something like an std? Also what does this sound like? Thank you.

I might ad that my wife and I had unprotected anal sex shortly before this pain. Thanks.

Brief Answer:
Prostatitis is most probable diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX and welcome to HCM.
Your concern is understandable.
As an Urologist, let me assure you, that Prostatitis is the most probable diagnosis.
Very likely, unprotected anal sex could have caused it.
You shouldn't think about STD, because, it's diagnosed with certain blood tests, not a cystoscopy test alone.
Also, STD diagnosis is always told to the patient by the treating doctor.
The symptoms are also different from what you describe.
