What Causes Lower Abdominal Pain?
Question: I'm in pain in lower abdominal (left side) uterus is enlarged 12.9x7.3x6.8cm. Endometrial thickness is 9mm. Multiple at least 5, hypoechoic lesions within uterus, compatible with intramural and subserosal leiomyomas. The largest is a subserosal lesion in the right uterus measuring 46x34mm. A peri centimeter prominent follicle is noted in the left ovary. Should I be concerned can this be cancer and is it normal to have continuous pain like discomfort sometimes and others excruciating pain?? Please help

At 36 years of age,with your uterine size enlarged and presence of multiple fibroids especially intramural are a cause of your periodic and intermenstrual pain. The subserosal fibroid being outside the uterus usually doesnt cause any pain , but may cause pressure symptoms like increased frequency of urine if pressing on bladder ( depending on its location anteriorly), or may press on adnexal structures like ovaries to cause intermittent pain and discomfort.
Your endometrial thickness of 9 mm in corresponding to your day of cycle and doesn't indicate any evidence of uterine cancer( unlikely at 36 years of age.). Its the intramural fibroids which can cause infrequent uterine cramps and pain especially during menses following asymmetric uterine contractions.
I would request you to attach the ultrasound pelvis reports for perusal and and any other blood work which has been done. Also please mention about your pattern of menses, LMP, flow of menses, and duration since when pain is experienced and also of there has been a constant increase in fibroid size , incase you have follow up ultrasound reports.
