What Causes Itchy Testicles And Red Spots On Penis After Unprotected Sex?

Question: Hello,

About a week ago, I had unprotected sex with my only sexual partner in the past six months. This was the first time we had a sexual encounter in about 6 weeks. Monday morning we were having sex and I noticed her vaginal fluids were unuasully thick and creamy. I had to hurry up and go to work, so I got dressed and took off before waning my penis. By the end of the day, I noticed my testicles were itchy and had formed a rash-like red spots that extended up to the base and underside of my penis. There was a film from the creamy vaginal fluids present at well. I washed off when I got home thinking things would clear up. Over the course of the week, my penis seemed really dry and the skin is sensitive whenever I try to masturbate. The rash-like spot has improved in appearance, however the itchiness is still present, although it has subsided to some extent.

I began to suspect that I have chlamydia, so I've been researching the disease. As far as the symptoms I've read about, I think my testicles are slightly tender, but that could just be in my head. Also, there was a slight amount of clear discharge before I urinated this morning, but I also woke with an erection and it easily could have just been "pre-cum". I don't believe it is herpes, as there are no visible blisters on my penis.

I'm leaving on a trip for work tomorrow and I'm not going to be able to visit the doctor to get tested unless it is very urgent. Please advise on possible reasons for my symptoms and if it is urgent that I visit a doctor.

Brief Answer:
Please consult a doctor if symptoms are strong, take STD test after 30 days

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXX,
Thanks for writing in.

I have read through your query in detail.
Please find my observations below.

1. The following statistics is the risk to a male involved after a single act of male and female vaginal intercourse.

Genital Herpes 30%
Gonorrhea 25%
Chlamydia 20%
Syphilis 20%
Chancroid 15%
Genital Warts 10%
Hepatitis B 5%
HIV 0.9%

2. Since you had unprotected sexual intercourse, the significant risk of getting a STD persists and the symptoms of pain when urinating, swollen scrotum and testes with pain and suspected penile discharge are known to occur in chlamydia and gonorrhea infections.

3. Right now I suggest that you closely watch for symptoms like painful swollen testis, discharge from penis or burning pain during urination during your trip and if any of these happen then please consult a doctor and start medicines after clinical confirmation.

4. If there is no strong symptom then please wait for 30 days from the incident and get tested for possible STDs. The STD tests are usually accurate at 30 days from probable unprotected sexual intercourse.

5. Please avoid unprotected sexual intercourse if you have sex with someone whose sexual health is not known. Use of condoms protects from STDs.

Hope this answers your question. Please feel free to correct any oversight in my interpretation of your problems and discuss them in detail as per your requirements.

Hope your query is answered.
Do write back if you have any doubts.

Regards,
Dr.Vivek
