What Causes Itchy And Burning Eyes?
Question: From last week, My eyes started burning and feel like itching and are sort of red all the time. Could you please help me out with this?

Hi and thanks for your query.
It can be allergic conjunctivitis , or dry eye. Computer vision syndrome can also be result of prolonged use of contact lens.Allergic conjunctivitis can react to allergen which can be food drink, cosmetic ,a pet in house or pollen in air. Try to avoid them as far as possible.
Line of treatment is,take tablet levocetrizine 5mg twice daily. Apply cromal eye drop three times daily. It can be simply dry eye due to deficiancy of secretion. Strip-test can be done to know the cause. If so then refresh eye tear drop to be applied three times daily.Can be pjogrens syndrome. in it all secretion will be depressed. In case of computer vision syndrome, history of ex poser to computer for long hours will be there. Use anti glare specs. It is otherwise dry eye due to lack of blinking and deficient spread of tear film. So minimize time of use and take break in between and look out side to greeneries. Apply artificial tear drop. prolonged use of contact lens can result in dry eye resulting corneal erosion. Remove contact lens, use specs and apply artificial tear drop. Some of the causes are linked to Specific habit so need not be considered as cause.
