What Causes Itching Throughout The Body?

default
Posted on Fri, 24 Jun 2016
Question: My whole body itches. It started with the back of my head. I try not to scratch because I don't want to bleed. Now my arms, back & legs itch also. I have discontinued all vitamins for the last 4 weeks. I only take my loratadine (Claritin type product) for my allergies Any ideas?

Brief Answer:
Acute urticaria

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Thanks for the query.
Probably you have developed acute urticaria.
It's an allergic reaction.
I treat such cases with topical steroid cream like cortisone to be applied twice daily for a week and antihistamine tablet daily in night for the same duration.
You are already taking loratadine.
Start applying cortisone.
This should help you.
Let me know if you have any other doubts.
Thank you.
