What Causes Itching On Tip Of Penis?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Dec 2014
Question: I'm having a itchy feeling in the tip of my penis it has been happening for about 3 days now this morning I noticed white yellowish discharge in my under wear. the opening of my penis looks slightly inflamed I applied lotrimin jock itch ointment to the area and the redness has gone down and the itch has subsided to a degree. I've done a lot of research and think it may be a male yeast infection but I have had unprotected sex and am quite worried

I should also mention I suffer from anxiety. the lotromin ointment is making the discomfort and itch almost completely go away and the area looks better. should I try a week of daily applications of ointment to the affected area and if it does not subside go to the doctor? also I do not have health insurance so I would probably go to the health dept. I was planning on going tomorrow but the ointment has helped so much I feel like I should wait if it is safe to do so

Brief Answer:
you can wait.Continue applying antifungal and take antibiotic tratment for week to improve outcome.

Detailed Answer:
Welcome
I undrstood your query.
Clotrimazole (brand name Lotrimin) is an antifungal medication commonly used in the treatment of fungal infections. In your case, it may be an STD (sexually transmitted disease). Chlamydia is a sexually transmitted disease sometimes causing painful urination, penile discharge and more.
Gonorrhea is an sexually transmitted diseases and can cause painful urination and penile discharge.
In cases of infection, a diagnosis can be made by taking a urine sample or urethral swab, and can usually be cleared by a course of antibiotics. In the case of a sexually transmitted infection, it is recommended that sexual partners are also treated.
Antibiotic treatment will be helpful for you.Continue applying antifunagal ointment.
The most secure way of prevention is definitely sustaining from sexual intercourse. Another option is to be in a long-term monogamous relationship with an uninfected partner.
If symptoms increase, examination is necessary. take this tratment for a week along with oral antibiotic and if no improvement seen , then consult STD clinic doctor.
