Brief Answer:
causes of persistent itch

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,
Welcome to healthcaremagic.

I have read your query and understood your concern.

Generalized itch with no rash may be due to number of reasons like:
1) anaemia
2) liver disorders
3) kidney disease
4) any infection
5) thyroid dysfunction
6) atopic dermatitis: characterised by generalized dryness of skin.
7) senile pruritis: with advancing age, there is generalized itch due to mainly dry and senile skin.
8) diabetes mellitus
THese are the most of the common reasons for itch . I usually advice my such patients following investigations :
1) hemoglobin levels
2) liver function test
3) kidney function test
4) thyroid profile
5) blood sugar levels

I would advise you to get these investigations so as to rule out common causes.

Kindly get back to me with reports of above investigations so that I can help you to my best.

Stay healthy.
