What Causes Irritation On The Foreskin?

Question: I am experiencing irritation of the foreskin. I can retract with difficulty. The glans are red and have swelling. The foreskin seems to be closing, making retraction painful and causing breaks in the foreskin with minno bleeding. And it is sore. Cleaning daily reopens the breaks. I'm a 66 yr old male with Type 2 diabetes. Have never had this soreness and pain for this extended period (maybe 6 weeks or more now).

1) Are you diabetic?

Irritation and inability to retract foreskin is common in a individual having diabetes .

Get your sugar levels on empty stomach and 2 hours after lunch done to rule out /confirm the diagnosis .

Take antibiotics like Cefotaxime and anti fungal medication like Fluconazole twice daily along with anti fungal cream like Candid cream for local application over glans and foreskin .

If turn out to be diabetic consult qualified Diabetologist for proper treatment and dietary instructions .

I stated in the initial inquiry I have type 2 diabetes. I was diagnosed 11 years ago. This is the first time experiencing this level of irritation and discomfort.

Do the medications you recommended requie a prescription or can be purchased over the counter?
