What Causes Involuntary Tremors In Arms And Legs?

default
Posted on Wed, 17 Jun 2015
Question: Dr - My son is 25 years old, very slender of build and does very little physical exercise. Could be considered as being mostly sendientary 90% of the time. From an early age, when indulging in physical exercise or when giving me a big hug, his arms will involuntarily tremor. He says he has no pain when the tremors occur. This also occurs with his legs when he is doing push ups and squats. Is this normal or a sign of something more serious? We have no history of family seizures, but he has a great aunt on his father's side who suffered from MS or MD - I cannot recall which.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Welcome to Health Care Magic.
Thanks for writing.

I am Dr.Saddiq-ul-Abidin. I have read your question completely, I understand your concern and will try to help you in best way possible.

This is actually a normal response of weak muscle build. When some one does an exertion more than allowed by body and muscle structure, muscle and joint orintation is disturbed so as the stability and trembling starts.

This can indeed be controlled will take time but it will get better i will suggest here some measures which can be taken by your son which will help him deal with the problem.

1) Don't panic this is normal.

2) Join a good gym / fitness club with a good trainer and start strength building work out , start with lighter one and get to heavy woprkout as his body develops.

3) Eat good healthy food avoid junk.

4) Eat balanced food.

5) Leave sedentary live style involve in sports.

6) Use fruits and fluis while in active routine.

7) He can use vitamin and calcioum suppliments liks Centrum .

8) He should use high percentage of Proteins like chicken fish meat.

END NOTE:
Trembling arms and legs on heavy work is very less likely a seizure it's just weakness which can be over come with some physical strength building routing in 6 months

If he stays determined and willing to make things better he will himself see a change soon.
