Question: There is random swelling comes in hand and legs as well as in face also of my wife. She is 28 year old. She is facing issues from last 3months. It is very random that's why we didn't consult it with the doctor yet. Sometime it remains for two days or more. It is also painful sometimes. Please suggest what could be the reasons.

Brief Answer:
Investigations required.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for posting the query,

The random swelling is called as edema. It could be due to many causes like renal or cardiac reasons or hypothyroidism.

Many a times the edema will be due to allergy. But in allergic cases it will not last for months. As it is reccuring many times from 3 months. I suggest your wife to consult the doctor at the earliest and get all the investigations done. In this particular case it is very difficult to judge the cause with out physically examining the patient.

Any issue do follow up.

Take care.
