Possible Intestinal infection ,management detailed below

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for trusting HealthcareMagic

We apologize for the delay in getting back to you
I have gone through your question and I understand your concern

Since you have been having these symptoms only for 5 days, and you had regular bowel movements before that, the likely possibility is infection (bacterial/viral)
Confirmation of diagnosis can only be confirmed by stool microscopy and culture. If bacterial infection is diagnosed, treatment with antibiotics is needed.

Meanwhile, drink lots of fluids(like Gatorade which also contains electrolytes, avoid citrus fruit juices). Follow bland diet like BRAT (Banana, rice, applesauce and toast) diet.

Please be advised to follow-up with a Primary care provider to get the necessary evaluation done and need for treatment with antibiotics.

Hope I was able to help you

Thanks...I have 'Gatorade' in the fridg...I use ALIGN (recommended a long time ago by a GASTRO doc.). Today I went to CVS and spoke w/ a pharmacists ....he recommended, 'SCHIFF' - DIGESTIVE ADVANTAGE (110X Better Survivablity).... I will try IT + Gatorade. Thanks

If it goes into next week - see Gastro doc.?

Brief Answer:
Follow BRAT diet, drink lots of fluid, take either align/digestive advantage

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thank You for following up

Both Align and digestive advantage contain Probiotics, which are good bacteria for your digestive system.
However, take either align or digestive advantage at a time, as too much probiotics can worsen gas and diarrhea in some people.
Follow BRAT diet, drink fluids like Gatorade along with probiotics.

Follow up with a Primary care provider/ gastroenterologist if your symptoms persist after 4 or 5 days, or abdominal pain/diarrhea worsens, as this may be an indication of bacterial infection requiring treatment with antibiotics.

Hope I was able to help you
