What Causes High Blood Sugar Levels While On Midodrine?
Question: I am 70 years old, have Parkinsons disease. I have always had low pressure, until very recently I was on Midodrine. My Neurologist told me to stop it if my BP was over 120/70. I gave taken it several times this afternoon. The last several readings have been around 200/102. Should I worry?
Brief Answer:
you should reduce the dosage
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
200/102 is very high. If you don't have any aneurysms or heart failure then there is no immediate danger (usually) but you shouldn't let your blood pressure reach that levels often. You should reduce the dosage of midodrin, to avoid high blood pressures.
I hope you find my comments helpful!

Thank you for your help. Is it possible that this is another symptom of Parkinson's?
Brief Answer:
no
Detailed Answer:
Parkinson's disease (PD) and it's treatment lowers the blood pressure. PD manifestations may impair the readings though by inducing involuntary movements which may lead to false readings.
Just make sure that you're not trembling too much or being too rigid when measuring it to avoid interference.
Kind regards!
no
