Brief Answer:
Don't be concerned. It's common post-surgery

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

I understand your concern and worries. Elevated blood pressure is usually associated with anything that can cause sympathetic output which is also known as adrenal rush or surge. Therefore, infections, pain, surgery, anxiety, exercise, etc can cause increases in blood pressure. It is not uncommon to see elevated blood pressure after surgery. It rarely requires treatment because it is usually transient.

Surgery is associated with significant pain. Pain can increase your blood pressure, as well as surgery itself due to the significant adrenal surge afterwards. I would not be concerned about your blood pressure. It is likely temporary.

I would continue to take your blood pressure daily. If it goes above 180/110, I would call your surgeon and let them know. At that time, they can give you medication to help bring it down.
