Brief Answer:
detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Welcome to Healthcare Magic.

The probability to transmit the infection during an outbreak (when you have open sores or even when you start to have the warning signs of an outbreak like tingling ,burning etc ) is higher.
Herpes is most easily spread when there are open sores, but it can also be spread before the blisters actually form or even when you have no symptoms.
Since you had unprotected intercourse ,the risk of having contracted genital herpes is significant for him.It is not 100 % but it is high.
You should avoid having intercourse until the sores are completely healed and after you need to use protection always. He should get tested to confirm the infection.

Hope it helps.
Let me know if you have any question .
