What Causes Hard Painful Area Around Incision Site Of Sebaceous Cyst Removal?

default
Posted on Wed, 28 Jan 2015
Question: I had an infected sebaceous cyst removed from next to my anus under a local anesthetic yesterday. I was told I didn't need to do anything or take anything and it would be fine.
I understand it will take several days to feel better but the round, hard, painful area has actually doubled in size since yesterday.
Is this normal or should I contact the surgeon?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
Not normal

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Thanks for the query

It looks like you have developed a hematoma. Please Aporoach a surgeon immediately before it becomes bigger.
I usually give my patients anti inflammatory agents like tab enractin plus twice daily for 7 days, it heals the wound faster and prevents infections

I hope I was of help, if you have any further queries please get back to me

Regards
