default
Posted on Fri, 9 May 2014
Question: I'm a 52yr old male paraplegic 68" tall, 18lbs with recent colostomy. I was recently hospitalized for chronic constipation due to high narcotic and anti-depressant use to control extreme neuropathy pain. My urinalysis showed rbc 6 -10, low ketones, wbc clumps and final result determined e-coli infection. I am MRSA nairs pos and have frequent uti's since my accident Nov 2005. Is my risk of developing kidney disease high at this point?

Brief Answer: Not able to access the account provided... Detailed Answer: Hi there, I have gone through your medical history and feel sorry for the situation you are in. I have tried to enter to the portal you sent in, but, unfortunately, with no success. Can you please re-check and re-send the log-in data? Repetitive urinary tract infection at your case, is related to: - not being physically active (pas you are paraplegic) - being uncircumcised - prostate problems (enlargement) - diabetes If the infections are properly treated and you are doing regular follow ups with your doctor, then, the risk to have kidney disease is reduced. However, to say the last words, I want to see and analyze the lab results myself. Looking forward to have the requested data in! Thank you! God bless you! Dr.Albana
