Brief Answer:
Mild blood streaks while spitting most likely due to throad congestion

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX
Welcome to the HCM

I have gone through your question and understand your concerns but don't worry. Infants and toddlers are prone to self limiting viral infections. High grade fever spikes can occur due to viral infections as well, so avoid antibiotics for all episodes of fever. The most likely reason for blood in your baby's spit is a throat congestion which is a common type of viral infection in this age.

To guide you in the best possible way, I would like to know the following details:
- Since how long she is getting twice a month febrile illnesses ?
- Are there any associated symptoms such as frequent urination or crying while urination, skin infections, throat infections etc.
- What is her birth weight and current weight. How is her appetite and what is her normal diet.
- Is there any significant past history or birth history? Any history of hospitalization.
- How are her milestones ?
- Kindly attach any lab reports if you have.

Looking forward for your reply.

Brief Answer:
She needs symptomatic treatment

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Thanks for your reply.
There is no need to worry. You may give the following treatment:
1. Give acetaminophen for fever spikes and repeat the dose after 6-8 hours if fever spikes persist. In case, fever doesn't respond at all to proper dose of acetaminophen, then Syp. Meftal-p ( mefenamic acid) may be used as second line drug for fever.
2. Give water sponging to bring faster relief from fever spikes.
3. Start her on antihistamine such as Syp.Maxtra or T minic for relieving throat congestion.
4. Go for a throat swab culture and sensitivity test if throat infections seems severe before any antibiotic therapy. This is to check for streptococcal infection which needs a full course of antibiotics to treat present infection and avoid rheumatic fever later.
You may upload the reports for my reference.
5. Use room humidifier while sleeping if the weather is dry.
6. Ensure regular feeds and lots of fluids to prevent dehydration and weakness.

Hopefully this will help you. I would be happy to help you in any further questions.
Take care
