What Causes Frequent Bowel Movements, Indigestion, Weight Loss And Fatigue?

default
Posted on Fri, 6 Oct 2023
Question: Fast Bowel Motality : Morning
My Morning BM is on time and within few minutes of me getting up
2nd BM is between 1-2 hours and soft sausage like but can see some small food particles mostly seeds or carrot, tomato / Capsicum pieces (No solid food particles)
I was told this is indigestion and hence causing weight loss and fatigue...I am on medications right now as advised...But symptoms must improve...I dont have any other complaints apart from fatigue which I am told is coz of stress and anxiety...but the stomach discomfort in terms of BM movement and urgency to go frequently is bothering me

Brief Answer:
Altered gut flora with micro nutrients disturbances.guidelines provided.

Detailed Answer:

Hello,

I have evaluated your query with all attached reports and previous conversations.

* Bowel movements are in relation with alterations in gut flora mechanics from
various reasons.
* Fatigue is a multi factorial issue as deficiency of micro nutrients, work pattern &
body adjustment to that or others.

My recommendations at present

* Dietary measures

- Prefer to consume balanced nutritious diet including whole grains, cereals, pulses
legumes.
- Avoid dairy fat, chilly, junk foods, non veg stuffs.
- Opt for regular interval food or snacks intake to avoid long gap evoking empty
stomach.
- Drink plenty of liquids ( specially during working hours ).
- Add to consume fresh butter milk and yogurt in your regular meals.

* Life style modifications

- Manage to have sound regular sleep of minimum 7 hours.
- Avoid smoking, alcohol consumption if using.
- Avoid stress, anxiety.
- Increase YOGA and deep breathing exercises timing to 30 minutes a day.
- Keep regular chart of your body weight.
- Do not sit continuously for 8 hours at work place, choose to take a walk of 5
minutes in office every 1-2 hourly.
- When you go for a prolong talk of more than 20-25 minutes, you require to take
deep breaths and splash your eyes with cold water for 2-3 minutes, which will
work fantastic.

* Medications part

- Librax is known to produce added effect over dizziness and lethargy, so have to
stop at present.
- Can take any proton pump inhibitor as omeprazole, pantoprazole or else
available on OTC basis with nearby chemist and start taking once in morning
with sips of water on empty stomach.
- Addition of pro biotic with live gut flora of various types help immensely in gut
issue of your case, which requires prescription of your doctor.

* Regarding further blood test

- I do not recommend any further blood test at this stage after evaluating all
reports of December 2017.

* As a summary

If you will follow additional guidelines over and above what you are doing, you will
be getting best results with time.

Advisable to follow up after 3 days or early as per the requirement.
Wish you fine health.

Regards.

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi
Welcome for follow up.

* Soy is an inhibitor of trypsin (which is digestive enzyme produced in the
pancreas) and can cause bloating, increased bowel motility.
So I recommend to avoid soy milk and protein powder both at present till the
gut motility settles down.
Instead of that, you can go for green tea, coffee, lemon juice, mung water for
best results.

* When taking Nexium, there is no need to switch over to Pan 40.

* Continue yogurt and capsule pro biotic.

Regards.

Thanks alot sir....Do u think this is all IBS? Or any other underlying medical condition? And what is the best way to get rid of these things completely?

Brief Answer:

Detailed Answer:
Hi

* This is more of functional bowel dysfunction rather than purely IBS.
Reasons to support
- there are no symptoms improvement with IBS medications.
- present symptoms also do not match completely with the characteristics of
IBS.

* Apart from the things mentioned above in my narrations, water does play a very
major role to calm the gut.
I strongly recommend you to consume boiled water at home, work place ( with
carrying in steel container ) & see the results.

oh ok...So should I continue with the current medication or stop it?

Brief Answer:
follow up .

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

* Sudden stopping of current medications are not recommended.
* I would recommend to
take colospa retard and rifagut on alternate day basis at present, do not take
both together at any day.
Continue nexium and pro biotic on daily basis.

Then according to the symptoms progress, we can discuss out further after 7-10 days for future action.

I am bit sure, if you follow strict dietary measures with life style modifications at its best, you can get rid of the condition as well as these medicines ; which are only supportive ( not curative ) even if it is IBS in case at all.

Thank you sir...The issue is I have consulted almost 7 doctors online and physically that includes top Gastro as well and everyone has been on the same page that it is IBS. I understand IBS is not a pathological disorder and exclusion of all other diagnosis. The reason for me consulting so many Drs is not that I am hell bent on finding something wrong but actually looking for solutions that can help me in long run...Not sure why everyone else says IBS and despite taking medicines its not helping. Can you please advise?
Also I will follow your advise of taking these medicines on alternate basis...so should I take once a day (Each) or twice a day (Each) on an alternate day basis?
Also I do smoke....could this be the primary reason for all this daily tussle between me and my stomach?
Also i am in XXXX and everyone drinks the same water which is a Tap water....My wife and son (8 Yrs) they dont seem to have any such problems and my other family members around the area...is that water problematic for me only?

Detailed Answer:
Hi XXXXXXX

* I will still adhere myself as you are not having IBS typical pattern, though top
gastroenterologist may have recommended you the same.

* You should take one tablet colospa today, rifagut tomorrow, colospa 3rd day,
rifagut 4th day like that.

* I strongly recommend you to stop smoking totally ( active as well as passive
from contact of other co workers and in public places ) irrespective of what the
previous consultants have advised you regarding this.
Because it is a very major factor to alter your gut flora immensely and I wonder
if no previous experts have highlighted this to you till now !

* So far as gut sensitivity is concerned, it varies from individual to individual, you
can not compare your gut with those of your relatives for same water
consumption ; you have problem, you need to boil the water, though how much
pure it is.

Hi

* Currently have to avoid non veg for a minimum period of 4-6 months, which is
mandatory time period for recovery of gut flora mechanics.
* You have to consume all home cooked foods but that also should be least
content of ghee, oily, spicy, dairy fat.

* Restaurant food, Pizza and all other tasty foods are not advisable at present, it is
not banned for life but for an indefinite period of time at present.
* So far as number of questions are concerned, do not count as last or second
last, just clarify all your doubts anytime.
