Posted on Tue, 8 Nov 2016
Question: Hi, thyroid detected in pregnancy, in second month my pregnancy was confirmed, but my tsh was more than 100 and t3 was 0.77 and t4 was 2.80, Dr suggested me to take 150mcg for one week, after a week my tsh was 73, again Dr suggested me to take 200mcg for 10days. My tsh decreased from 73 to 3.27, now 3rd month running, plz suggested me to thyronorm dosage for 3.27 tsh and is there any harm to unborn baby for my thyroid disorder in first and second month. Thank you in advance.

Brief Answer:
continue same dose

Detailed Answer:
Hi there,

Continue the same dosage at present, as accurate thyroid level control is necessary in pregnancy.

Repeat the TSH values after 1 and a half months to know the levels not before that.

Thyroid abnormalities during pregnancy need to be corrected. It is good that your thyroid issue was identified early.

If the thyroid hormone had to affect the pregnancy it would have shown on the 11 weeks scan by now. Since your pregnancy is being monitored closely. I do not see any reason for you to worried.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
