His appetite has also reduced a lot however, he happily eat sweet things like kheer, halwa n candies etc. He has also suffered from high fever 2-3 times during this period however, fever goes after 3 days with giving paracetamol. He has become very cranky also. I am very worried & confused, do not know whats happening to my baby. Please help me. He is taking Nan-Lo lac (prescribed by his pediatrician) from bottle. Brief Answer:
Eliminate milk altogether. Curd may be given without worries.

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

I have gone very carefully through your query. Constipation in children is usually associated with fluctuation in stool consistency. It is quite clear from the description that he is not able to digest stuff properly. This is the reason behind the foul smelling stool.

The mainstay of treatment would be to increase the total dietary fiber consumption. Wheat, corn, etc. are high in insoluble fiber, which helps prevent constipation. XXXXXXX can be sprinkled into his favorite foods, from hot cereal and pancakes to muffins and cookies. Many popular high-fiber cereals and bars are also packed with XXXXXXX Beans really are the magical fruit. Isabgol (psyllium husk) or senna can also be given as fiber supplements.

Make sure that he continues to drink plenty of water and goes to pass stool at a regular time every day (irrespective of whether he feels an urge to pass). This will demote stool holding habits and would promote regular bowel habits.

At this age, milk is just an accessory food item provided that the nutrients are procured from other food items. Although NAN-LoLac can be given, I do not see its necessity.

I would not really bother about the colour of stool. It could vary with the nature of food taken.

Children often suffer from viral infections which could manifest with fever. You need to give tepid sponding and paracetamol when needed. You need not worry about such episodes provided that the child is otherwise active and fine.

Let me know if there is something specific that I could help you with.

Regards
