Brief Answer: you are in short of a prokinetic Detailed Answer: Hi, Both the meications are fine, but in short of a prokinetic. They suppress the acid production and may not totally relieve GERD. You need addition of a prokinetic (like levosulpride or itopride or domperidone) to tighten your gastro esophageal sphincter, otherwise, the residual reflux is sufficient to cause problems. Donot keep yourself fasted for too long. take frequent short meals, avoid hot beverages and increase the pillow size while you lie down. hope these will help you.

I have not been fasting ... In fact I have a normal appetite . I think this flair up was caused by drinking wine this past weekend . As for this other medications ... Do they have names ..? So the medication I am on is fine ... But I need more ?

Brief Answer: Alcohol, in any form can assault the ulcer Detailed Answer: Hi, Yes, Alcohol, in any form can assault the ulcer prone stomach. The drug you are presently using is fine, but as i said, it will not reduce the acid reflux effectively. hence you may need one of these mentioned below for better response. (Sorry, we are not authorized to suggest brand names in this portal.) Many of these are OTC drugs; you may ask for either Domperidone 20 or 30 mg or Itopride 50 mg in any pharmacy nearby. Hope this will help.
