What Causes Flank Pain, Foamy Urine, Headache And Frequent Urination?
Question: Hi I am having flank back pain for 3 weeks or so and a very salty taste in mouth. I am having headaches and feels like fluid in lungs that make me cough. I am seeing lots of foaming urine and cloudy . I feel like I have been peeing less but more often. I am having some leaking sometimes. I do have hypothyroidism and high blood presure. I have some itchy and leg pain. My hands and feet are swollen. I also must meation a history of massive saddle pe in lungs 2 years ago . Diagnosed with favor v leiden and protein s. Recently also a CT scan showed chronic sinusitis with mutiple blockages. The ent dr wanted to do a spinal tap to test for a csf leak.. i also have thyroid diease. confused?

Flank pain, Foamy urine and increased frequency of urine indicates Urinary Infection. I would recommend you to get Urine Culture sensitivity test done and revert back with report.
Till then keep drinking more fluids and Citrus fruits. You can also use Syrup Citralka for symptomatic relief.
Coming to your swollen hands and Legs , many conditions can cause this . These are :
1. Low Protein levels .
2. Kidney Problem .
3. Heart Problem.
4. Thyroid disease.
I know that you have Thyroid disease that can explain the swelling but still I would recommend you get evaluated for the other causes listed above . In that regard get the following tests and revert back with reports.
Serum Creatinine, Blood Urea, Serum Albumin Levels, 2D ECHO and TSH.
For leaking problem ( I assume its leaking nose right ? ) there is no need for Spinal tap , just analysis of the fluid from nose is sufficient .
Kindly revert back with the tests reports.
