What Causes Fatigue, No Appetite And Joint Pains After Travel By Air?

default
Posted on Tue, 3 Jun 2014
Question: flew overnight from Mexico City last Monday - tired, but no big deal - by Thursday a.m. could barely put one foot in front of the other - no appetite, extreme fatigue, sore joints and muscles; back pain, some bursts of energy, but then need to rest. (I am a person who walked 10 kilometers three times a week up until the week before last). Have lost 6 pounds.

Detailed Answer:
Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your problem I would like to tell you that both the issues can be unrelated that is your travel and bodyache. But since jet lag seems to be the most common thing it could be a possibility.

Since you have lost weight that needs evaluation at your age . You need to get your CPK , Vitamin D levels , Calcium levels done to look for the cause . Since you had a history of malignancy it also needs to be kept in mind.

One think I will tell you to keep yourself hydrated ,plus if there is no contraindication you can take a paracetamol for pain relief , it will be beneficial for you. You should see a physician for overall evaluation .

Take care.
