Brief Answer:
Botulinum toxin may help.

Detailed Answer:
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.

Excessive saliva or drooling can be controlled in different ways.

Treatment depends on cause. In old people the main cause is excess production by salivary glands and weakness of facial and masticating muscles.

There are a number of drugs that lower saliva production reducing this way drooling too, (transdermal scopolamine, Glycopyrrolate), but these drugs have side effects.

A promising way to treat excessive saliva is botulinum toxin injection into salivary glands that reduces saliva production significantly for about six months.

I suggest you to discuss with your primary care Doctor about these possible ways to treat excessive saliva.

Hope this answers your question. If you have additional questions or follow up questions then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your questions.

I will look into this but just one more question and I know you are not a holistic doctor but just wondering if you know of any holistic medication that I can get. All of my family has been holistic and have not taken medication but I will look into the injection and thank you for that. If you know of any holistic medication just let me know.

Thank you again for your help.

Have a nice day!
