What Causes Excessive Menstrual Bleeding?

Question: Hi Doctor

I am aged 51. I have regular starting day for my period. But some months it prolongs for more than a week (2 pads change required). Is there any problem in having trapic MF ? Does it have any side effect? What is the dosage ?

normally occasional prolonged periods at this age are not a cause of worry. but it's advisable to do an ultrasound. if ok then you may safely take trapic mf during menses upto thrice daily . pl ensure that you don't take tablet empty stomach as it can lead to acidity and gastritis

Can you advice the dosage. I had taken 500mg x 3 per day and this is my second day. Can I continue till bleeding stops or is it only for three days.
