Brief Answer:
Yes it can

Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query, albeit short and specific.
To recapitulate: Female/70 - wants to know whether swollen internal hemorrhoid can cause an elevated CRP level in blood test.

CRP is C-reactive protein. This is produced by liver in response to an inflammation and/or infection anywhere in body. The tests can only tell whether the process of inflammation/infection is going or not but can not tell the place where it is going on.
Hence if there is an inflammation and/or infection in the internal hemorrhoids CRP can be increased.

I hope this answer helps clear your doubts, please feel free to ask for further relevant queries if you feel that there is a gap of communication.

I also have a slightly elevated ESR range is 0-18 and my score was 23.
The test was done yesterday a few days after having a l24 hr virus with a low-grade fever. What does this mean in combination with the elevated Crp (which was 34...range 0-8

Brief Answer:
As detailed below.

Detailed Answer:
ESR has no diagnostic value and is important only if highly raised- then there is a prognostic value. This means when one gets a proper treatment, the ESR values start coming down.
Similar case with CRP - it shows positive response to treatment when serial readings show downward trend.
Both are not specific of any disease.
