Brief Answer:
What antibiotic did you take?

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this query.

I am so sorry to hear about this dry scalp that you have reported. I am however happy to note that the fever has disappeared after taking the antibiotic which to me is a signs of good response to treatment. I will like that you report the name of the antibiotic and medications that were used to me. I am thinking this might be a reported adverse effects of one of the drugs that you used.

With the names, I will review the possible side effects and see if this is one of them. For now, I will recommend that you eat healthy, exercise often and would get back to you with more information on what the possible cause of this scalp dryness is.

Before we get there, it constitutes no real threat to life and you should not be too bothered about this, Spontaneous resolution would be very likely.

Hi,

Antibiotic is cefixime 200 mg. Dry scalp is high - so some remedy will help.

Brief Answer:
This is not a common side effect of this drug!

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you so much for this follow up question.

Scalp dryness is not a documented side effect of this medication. However, seen the fact that symptoms started after being on this medication, there is a likely association between the two. I will recommend you continue the treatment to completion as this is not severe enough to warrant treatment discontinuation.

For the scalp dryness, I recommend you applying lubricating/moisturizing lotions to keep it moist. You can ask your local cosmetic shop on what the available brands are. This would offer relief for the time leading up to spontaneous resolution like I mentioned before.

I hope this helps. I wish you well. Feel free to keep the discussion going if need be.
