What Causes Dizziness After Having Percocet?

Question: Hello. I had a D&C yesterday. Everything went fine and I'm minimally bleeding and moderate cramps which I took the prescribed Percocet last night to sleep. Today I am very very flushed in my face and a bit light headed. Any ideas? Thank you.

hi XXXXXX, I have gone through your question. Percocet tablet contains acetaminophen (paracetamol) and oxycodone. Oxycodone is a narcotic component and causes effective pain relief, but it has side effects like light headedness, dizziness and flushing in face. The symptoms you are having are most probably the side-effect of this drug, and is not related to any complication of D&C.
I would suggest you to stop this drug if you are not having severe pain. Mild pain can be treated by paracetamol only.
If the symptoms continue even after discontinuing the drug fore more than 24 hours, then do consult your OBGYN specialist for proper examination and investigations for finding the cause. You will be treated according to the cause.
