Question: I was recently diagnosed with asthma. Using advair for almost a week with mild relief. Also had me take a zpack. My stomach distends after eating. Sharp pain in my mid back. My lower right abdomen hurts when I press on it. However I am also constipated. And at the end of the day ,my voice is very hoarse. No fever.

Brief Answer:
Symptoms coming from side effects of medicines.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

Thank you for using HCM to post your question.

I read it carefully and I understand your concern.

Advair will need some time until it takes effect, but meanwhile you are using Salbutamol as needed, are you?

The hoarse voice maybe is because the steroid part of Advair, may not be spread well in the airways and it sticks in the vocal cords. Some practical ways to avoid it is to use spacer when you take your inhaler if it not with disk, and also remember to drink plenty of fluids.

Azithromycin is the medicine which gives the stomach discomfort side effects. I would recommend to take it with food the 5 days that you have taken it, and when the cure its done, the side effect should go away. If you still have problems about it, then you maybe should consider taking an antacid medicine for 1-2 weeks.

Eat lots of fruits and vegetables, foods rich in fibers and soups, drink plenty of fluids, and the constipation should not be a problem soon.

Let me know if you need more clarifications. I would be happy to answer.

Take care.
