Brief Answer:
melatonin seems like a good choice

Detailed Answer:
Hello,

I would advise against using ambien because it may cause dependence, unless you'd like to use it only for a limited amount of time. Melatonin seems to be a good choice if you don't have any autoimmune conditions because it may help you regulate changes in sleep patterns like shifts or travel to a different time zone.

5mg 3 hours before bed would probably be OK.

Of course you've got to consult your doctor before taking any medication because only your doctor knows your complete medical history and can make appropriate decisions.

I hope you find my comments helpful!
You can contact me again, if you'd like any clarification or further information.

Kind Regards!
