Question: My girlfriend is 52 years old and has not had her period for two years. Do we need to wear protecton or birth control. Is there a blood test she can take to make sure she is no longer fertile?

Brief Answer:
Menopausal, FSH levels to confirm

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear,
I have gone through your question and understand the concerns.

The absence of periods for 2 years is suggestive of menopause.

She can get a serum FSH levels done to confirm that she is post menopausal and is no longer fertile.
If FSH levels are more than 20, it is suggestive of menopause.

Hope you found the answer helpful. Let me know if I can assist you further.
