What Causes Delay In Menstruation And Stomach Ache?

default
Posted on Thu, 9 Oct 2014
Question: Hi, I got the Implanon Implant taken out on the 25th of XXXXXXX 2014, I then got my period on the 8th of July and it lasted 5 Days, I then got my period on the 10th of August. I have still not got my period, which puts me at 43 days. I have done 4 urine tests since my period was due (one today) and they have all come up negative. I have had pain in my stomach for the past three days, it does not feel like normal period pain, which normally only lasts about a day.

Brief Answer:
You may not be pregnant.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your question.

Fertility returned immediately after removal of Implanon and you had previous two normal cycles means you are ovulating, so with delayed menses pregnancy cannot be ruled out 100%.( I know you had a negative urine pregnancy test)

There are so many reasons which cause delayed menses, other than pregnancy (ectopic pregnancy keep in mind because it can cause negative pregnancy test along with pain in the stomach)

Stress, weight changes, PCOS (anovulatory cycle), ovarian cyst, and hormonal imbalance can cause delayed menses.

In my opinion you should consult a gynecologist and get your ultrasound pelvis test (TVS) done to rule out the cause of delayed menstruation.

If it is due to hormonal imbalance or stress induce you can take medicine to get your period and antacid for stomach pain.

Hope I have answered your query if you have further questions I will be happy to assist you.

Good luck.

Brief Answer:
It can be normal in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

I'm so sorry for my delayed response.

If discharge is associated with odor, then probabilities of infection are increased.

In my opinion you should consult your treating doctor and get your pelvic examination performed to rule out infection.

If infection is there, then you require treatment with a course of antibiotic.

Hope some of it is useful.
