Brief Answer:
Should exclude pregnancy.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing to us.

The menstrual bleeding soon after intake of the pill in February was due to the withdrawal effect. The high hormone content of the pill causes this. It is also common for the next natural period to get delayed by a week or two.

You did not mention when you had your last normal period prior to using the pills. If you were delayed by more than ten days in February, you should have had a clinical evaluation by an expert. This is done in order to exclude/confirm pregnancy and also to exclude hormonal imbalances.

Since you did not go for an examination and had another emergency pill subsequently, you should get proper evaluation by a a specialist. You may expect some withdrawal bleeding in a couple of days, if you are not pregnant already. Either way, you should get properly evaluated.

You need to have an assessment of the serum beta-hCG titres and also a trans-vaginal sonogram. Hormone profile may be done if needed.

Hope your query has been clarified. Please feel free to contact for further information. I will be happy to help.

Brief Answer:
Pill effect likely.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

This delay in your cycles is likely to be the pill effect. Since you have taken another pill recently, you may see another episode of withdrawal bleeding in a couple of days.

Hope this helps. Please contact for further information.

Brief Answer:
Future pregnancy is unaffected with restricted use.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for writing again.

Your chances of being pregnant, in the current scenario, are very remote. Emergency pills should be used only once or twice a year. This is to avoid unwanted hormonal imbalances cropping up time and again. With frequent use, there is a permanent disruption of the hormone balance and this could affect the chances of a future pregnancy. So, please opt for regular contraception until you wish for a pregnancy.

Hope your query has been answered. Please contact if you need any more help. I will be available to answer.

Wish you good health.

regards,
Shanti.V.
