Question: My neck is darker than my face since age 15 and I am 28 now. I was recommended Melalite and betnovate to be applied on alternative days along with Retino-A. It made it better but completely hasnt made it all gone. how can I make my face and neck more clearer and of even skin tone please?

Brief Answer:
Might be Acanthosis Nigricans

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXX

Welcome to healthcaremagic.

I understand your condition and read your query carefully. You wrote in your history that your family members have diabetes, so you are strongly prone to be diabetic.

I would suggest you to go for a fasting blood glucose test,if it is abnormal then go for Postprandial too. Acanthosis Nigricans is a symptom of many underlying disease, one of which is Diabetes.Once you treat the underlying cause, your neck patch would diminish gradually.

You should go for a thyroid profile test too.Hypothyroidism can also be one of the underlying cause.

After the cream treatment Now, its just one tone darker and the challenge is more as to how to make it even. Thank you for your reply and I will definitely get myself blood tested earliest possible.

Detailed Answer:
Hello

Welcome back

Your neck darkness is not as bad as it had to be because you were using creams and ointments.

Treating the underlying cause will completely cure this.
