Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your query and will help you in best possible way,

From what history you have given,
Number of possibilities come to my mind like,

1)Lower respiratory tract infection,

2)Tuberculosis,

3)Exacerbation of chronic bronchitis,

To confirm the things chest x ray and complete blood count needs to be done,

To help you further better way I would like to know some more history like,

Does he have breathless??

Does he have fever at night??

What's his age??

Is he experiencing loss of weight??

If you have any investigation done please upload its reports,

Awaiting your reply,

Regards.
