Brief Answer:
Likely to be because of eustachian tube dysfunction

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for the query.

You seem to be suffering from Eustachian tube dysfunction and that popping sensation is because of opening and closing of tube.

A history of preceding cold makes one more prone to Eustachian tube dysfunction.

Dizziness can be because of toxins released because of inflammation of middle ear mucosa which can enter into inner ear. Alternately, even blockade of Eustachian tube can also lead to dizziness.

Please use a mucolytic with nasal decongestant drops and steam inhalation.

In case the problem persists, please consult an ENT.

Feel free to ask another query.

How long should i try this treatment before the dizziness and popping should go away? Should I try this before seeing an ent or should this work? Is it common for this to last for several months like it has?
Thank you

Brief Answer:
descriptive

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.

Eustachian tube dysfunction can remain persistent for prolonged period and this treatment for few weeks should help in a lasting resolution.

The toxin release by inflamed middle ear mucosa resulting in dizziness is usually a short term phenomenon and the period you are telling is a bit longer.

You can try this as these medicines are usually available over the counter.

In case you don't get relief in few weeks or the problem is severe, you can see an ENT.
