Brief Answer:
Several things come to mind

Detailed Answer:
Good afternoon. My name is Dr. Saghafi and I am a neurologist. Your problem is one I see on a regular basis. I would like to recommend the following short list of possibilities given the symptom of burning sensation of the left foot:

1. Plantar fasciitis/Heel spurs/fallen or weakened arches of the foot

2. Irritation of the S1 nerve root in the lower back on the left possibly due to either a bulging disk or a herniated disk.

3. Nutritional deficiencies which could include Vitamin B12, folate, Vit. D, Mg, or Zinc

4. Alcohol Neuropathy (Excessive use of alcohol)

The burning sensation is very classic for some form of neuropathy or radiculopathy which means that either a NERVE ROOT is being squeezed or pinched (up in the back) or a terminal branch somewhere from the knee down is being irritated, or we are on the very front end of some metabolic derangement which if untreated will eventually lead to both feet having the same symptoms.

The above list is by no means exhaustive but given the limited information you initially provided that's probably the major set of categories I can come up with unless you narrow things down a bit by providing more information if you'd like.

And by the way....I did review the other questions you've asked other doctors on this network so I've got a little more information than just your question to work with but nevertheless, for this problem we need more relevant data to narrow things down.

I'd appreciate the favor of a STAR RATING and some written feedback if your question has been satisfactorily answered and you care to stop at this point.

CLOSING THE QUERY on your end will also be most helpful and appreciated as well so that this transaction can be processed expeditiously.

Don't forget that my webpage to keep me abreast as to how you're doing if you choose or if you ever have any other questions of a medical nature is:

Thank you for your response. I do not drink at all and just had blood work done and everything seems to be normal. All I feel is burning but not any pain. Where do I go to give you the start rating?

Brief Answer:
Thank you very much for your positive feedback

Detailed Answer:
I do not honestly know WHERE you (as a patient) have to go in order to do a STAR RATING. I don't know what the website looks like from the patient's perspective. All I know is that patients are able to offer a STAR RATING to an answer once they read the answers to their questions and then, they either CLOSE the QUERY or exit the question.

Very briefly, in response to your response.....the burning sensation which we refer to as a NEUROPATHY would actually be classified as a BURNING DYSESTHESIA (or ABNORMAL pain sensation). And that is because in the way things are classified, the quality of burning is taken to be a form of PAIN.

You say you had blood work. However, it would be necessary to check with your doctor to find out exactly what was included and if not included are the tests I recommended then, you should get those done as well.

Good luck to you and again I appreciate your taking the time to find where to leave the STARS! I hope you find relief very soon.
