What Causes Cloudy Urination When Suffering From Bladder Infection?

default
Posted on Mon, 8 Dec 2014
Question: I know I have a slight bladder infection. The pain while urinating has subsided, but I have now developed cloudy, foamy urine, with painful abdomen. I have been treating this by increasing water and cranberry juice. Does it sound like it is worsening?

Brief Answer:
does sound like progression

Detailed Answer:
Hi, thanks for using healthcare magic

The symptoms do sound as though the UTI is worsening.

Urinary tract infection can involve the bladder, urethra, ureter or kidneys , as well as the prostate in men.

It can be associated with the burning that you experienced initially as well as change in the colour, appearance or odor of the urine.
Additional possible symptoms are abdominal pain, fever, nausea, vomiting, frequency of urination.

Cranberry juice can sometimes help in early infection but may not be effective in all infections.

Since the symptoms are progressing, you would likely need a course of oral antibiotics from your doctor.

You would still need to continue the fluids while on the antibiotics.

I hope this helps, feel free to ask any other questions
