Question: My mother in law is suffering from chronic pain in her hands and right leg. The pain in hand started during 2011 and it was mainly focued in area from wrist to fingers of both hands. She reported the pain used to go away when she do work. This codition remained there for almost 2 years. Now since 2013 she is experincing pain in her right leg which originates from the back of her right thigh and goes right down to toe. She complains this pain while standing, but when she rests this pain basically don't come. Also the pain experienced in her hand has some how gone since the first appearance of pain in her right leg. But still she complains of a condition, like ants are moving in her hands, when she sits idle.

Brief Answer: I will advise you to do MRI spine. Detailed Answer: Hello, I have studied your case. Her present complain suggest disc pain leading to tingling numbness. Due to compression of this nerve root in spine there is pain in your thigh and leg. I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic[pregabalin] medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level. Till time you can continue your medication. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries. Wishing you good health. Take care.
